Menlo Borderlands- El Paso 2024

 Hello parents and guardians- It's us (Stefie & Matthew) writing one last time before the students take over. Today has been a full day of travel, getting the group settled into their rooms for the next 6 days, meeting the World Leadership School trip leaders and finally getting them ready to officially start their journey tomorrow. Most importantly, we arrived safely! The students have been super impressive so far with their ability to already bond as a group and be creative without their phones. Below is a collection of pictures from the day. You’ll see the moment right after the students dropped their phones into a bag for the next week, travel/airport pictures, their first family style dinner at the retreat center, etc. Tomorrow’s blog authors will be Ellie, Josh and Alex. Dear parents & guardians, The adventure begins tomorrow! These 2 days on campus have been filled with programming aimed at group bonding, while also introducing the key concepts and nuances of Immigration. The students have found out who their final project group members are and have begun to think about what Essential Questions they'll want to answer during their time in El Paso. Students have been engaged and wonderfully curious! We are absolutely thrilled to be their faculty leads for this trip. Once we are in the field, these blogs will be authored by pairs of students, who will use our laptop to reflect on each day, learnings they acquired and themes that they noticed. Borderlands El Paso Students and Parents, 1. All Borderlands - El Paso students should attend orientation: next  Monday, 5/20, 9:00 am, beginning in the Stent Ballroom .  2. Students will depart for El Paso on Wednesday, 5/22, mustering at  Ticketing / Departures, Southwest Airlines, Terminal 1B, SFO, at 8:00 am . Please be prompt.
